In last week’s post, I wrote about my word of the year for 2024 was Sustain.
Here is how I am thinking about the year ahead.
I will be dividing up my life into 3 clear areas:

1, Obsession
Your obsession is the main thing you do outside your profession, that you love doing and find flow doing.
2, Profession
Your profession is your work; how you make money or how you make an impact.
3, Decompression
Intentional recharge time and switching off.
I hope this will create more intentional mental switches depending on the area or mode I am in.
It also allows for focus on each area and makes goal setting clearer.
Here is how I have used this framework:
Obsession.
What:
Learn, Share, and Coach through The Peapod and in work coaching.
Goals:
Develop my ability to communicate ideas as effectively as possible in both writing and imagery to help others learn and grow with me.
Profession
What:
Deputy Manager B&Q Doncaster
Goals:
To continue to improve my mindset and how I relate to work and limit how much it can dominate other aspects.
To embed coaching as part of my role.
Decompression
What
Enjoying my free time.
Goals
To be intentional about spending time with family and friends.
To work towards not feeling guilty around relaxing.
These are just the goal headlines.
The idea behind sharing them is to give a sense of what a goal in each area could look like.
As always I hope this was helpful.
